Frozen Watermelon Kabobs for the Perfect Summer Chicken Treat

We’re in the thick of summer and boy is it hot! The girls are constantly looking for shade and digging deep into the dirt to try and stay cool. One of my flock’s favorite chicken treats of all time is a juicy watermelon.

So, in order to help them beat the heat, I made up these frozen watermelon kabobs with Flock Fixer.

They’re quick and easy, and the girls go nuts over them! Plus, I know they’re getting a healthy boost with Flock Fixer to stay hydrated and strong during the long summer days. My only wish is that I could eat one! (I suppose I could with my own electrolytes… haha!)

Anyways, happy summer, everyone!

How to Make Frozen Chicken Treats

These summer chicken treats are as simple as they are refreshing! Here’s how to make them.

flock fixer and watermelon in a container on the counter

Ingredients:

  • Large ripe watermelon cut into squares

  • Flock Fixer

  • Kabob sticks

  • Pan lined with parchment or plastic container

Instructions:

  1. Mix one scoop of Flock Fixer with a gallon of water and stir well.

  2. Cut your watermelon into cubes and place in a large bowl.

  3. Soak the watermelon squares in the Flock Fixer water.

  4. Skewer the watermelon onto kabob sticks.

  5. Lay the kabobs on a parchment-lined pan and place them in the freezer for at least two hours.

  6. Serve to your flock by poking the kabobs into the ground for a fun, cooling snack.

If you want to skip the kabob sticks, you can also freeze the Flock Fixer-soaked watermelon cubes in a container and pop them out later as icy summer chicken treats.

Not only do they love the cool treat, but it serves as a great boredom buster!

Until next time,
