The tree is up, the stockings are hung and if you’re like me, you’ve got a list and are checking it twice! I feel like the Christmas season really snuck up on me this year being that Thanksgiving was later. I have a lot of our Christmas shopping done, but there are a few people left on my list that have me stumped.
I’ve been thinking about different gift ideas. Then, one day I was staring at the piles of eggs I have overflowing in my kitchen. I have this really cute bucket by our stove top full of fresh eggs, but I also had a small tote full, and then there were probably 4 dozen out in the coop yet!
I realize that a lot of chickens slow down their laying this time of year, but if you have an insulated coop with enough hours of light, you will have some happy hens! My family loves eggs, but even we couldn’t keep up.
This abundance of eggs gave me the fun idea of gifting eggs! I love to give gifts, and I really enjoy gifting people with things they can use! As a culture, we’re bombarded with “things”. Why not give some special people in your life a delicious and healthy gift they can use? Plus, it is an inexpensive gift they will love.
