The Bourbon Red turkey received its name from Bourbon County, Kentucky. The Bourbon Red is a rare heritage breed. Maturing at 20 weeks, females weigh about 16 pounds, and the male about 25 pounds. The Bourbon Red turkey breeds true and is a purebred. There is an order minimum of 20 and ships separately.
Bourbon Red poults (poults are what baby turkeys are called) are tan in color with pink legs and beaks.
