Americana

The Americana is a breed that will give you an assortment of colored eggs with a color pallet in tints of turquoise, olive, and brown. This breed is very docile and curious. If you have children, the Americana would be a great bird to add to your flock. They lay approximately 240 eggs a year. The Americana breed comes from the Aruaucana and Ameraucana mix and has different color plumage variations. Because of this genetic composition, this bird is not for exhibition. The adults have green-tinted legs and weigh four to six pounds at maturity. As you can see in the photo below, the baby chicks come in various colors and markings. They will lead to your adult flock having a wide range of colors.
