The Wyandotte was developed in New York state in the 1870s and was named for the indigenous Wyandotte people of North America. These birds are known for their elegant laced patterned feathers and are also great egg layers. Wyandottes are one of the most strikingly beautiful chickens to grace a backyard flock. They are quiet, easy to manage, and are one of the most winter-hardy of all breeds.

Silver Laced Wyandotte

Silver Laced Wyandottes are one of the most striking breeds we offer. They have beautiful silver feathers with black lacing. As mature adults, they weigh five to six pounds, and hens lay approximately 245 medium cream-colored eggs. Chicks have unique feathering with black down feathers and white to yellow speckles on their bodies and around their faces.

Columbian Wyandotte

Columbian Wyandottes are another variation of Wyandotte. They have white feathers with black feathers on their hackles, wings, and tail. Adults weigh five to seven pounds at maturity. Hens lay approximately 200 medium cream eggs. The color of the baby chicks will vary from yellow to dark grey.

 

Gold Laced Wyandotte

These lacy birds are very similar to their silver cousins, but with gold feathers and black lacing. They lay approximately 245 medium brown eggs and weigh five to six pounds as mature adults. Chicks have black down feathers with gold speckles.

Blue Laced Gold Wyandotte

We are so proud of this beautiful breed. Blue Laced Red Wyandotte will draw anyone’s attention, with their beautiful blue lacing. Adults weigh six to seven pounds and hens will lay approximately 200-medium cream colored eggs. Chicks have variations of brown and splash colored and no two will look alike.
