Turkens are not half chicken and half turkey; they are a unique chicken with a bare neck like the turkey, with minimal feathering around the breast and wing areas. They are friendly, are good brooders, and are easy to tame, plus they make for great conversation with curious neighbors. Hens lay approximately 265 large brown eggs, and Turkens weigh six to seven pounds at maturity. Their bare necks make Turken chicks easily identifiable.
