The Calico Princess®

is a specialty hybrid created by a breeder in the Czech Republic. It is a cross between a Red Barred male and a Columbian female, making a color sex-able chick. They are great egg layers and do well in many different environments. Calico Princess®

is docile and calm yet friendly, making it an excellent addition to any backyard flock. Hens lay approximately 290 large brown eggs a year. When they are fully grown, they weigh six to seven pounds, making them a great dual-purpose bird. It is topaz colored. Its feathers alternate in color between the light red-orange and white, making it seem like a glimmering topaz stone. Chicks are buff-colored with some dark brown stripes on their backs and a dark tip on their beaks.
